We read the article on Organic vs Conventional Food1 in Sight And Life Magazine 2/2010 with interest. It states that the nutritional quality of organic food is not different from conventional food, and that there is no evidence of any difference that might have an impact on health. At a certain point, the argument veers to the subject of epidemiological studies that show that a diet high in fruit and vegetables reduces mortality from cardiovascular diseases, but there is scant evidence on the effects of cancer. We have no reservations about the health advantages of recommended levels of fruits and vegetables. However, the comparison of conventional and organic food impact on health appears to require further revision.
