Around the world some two billion people suffer from micronutrient malnutrition (deficiencies of vital vitamins and minerals), also known as hidden hunger, which impacts on individuals’ growth and development and, ultimately, on economies and poverty. The 2nd International Meeting of the Micronutrient Forum took place in Beijing, China, in May and was an excellent opportunity for knowledge sharing among scientists, programmers and policymakers on the theme of ‘Micronutrients, Health, and Development – Evidence-Based Programs.
