In response to the problem of micronutrient deficiencies among individuals in emergency settings worldwide, DSM teamed up with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to form a successful, humanitarian partnership named Improving Nutrition, Improving Lives. Since its inception in 2007, the public-private partnership has aimed to improve the nutritional status of vulnerable groups of people, implementing micronutrient supplementation initiatives in refugee camps in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Kenya. To complement the food assistance offered by WFP in such settings, DSM has provided MixMe™, a micronutrient powder (MNP) and cost-effective supplement.
