There has been recent comment on the article Emerging Science on Lutein in the Brain (Sight and Life 1/2014) stating that the evidence to date supporting a role for lutein in cognition is largely observational, and that it lacks supporting hard facts. Efforts aimed at establishing a recommended intake are thus not warranted, it is inferred.
