Undernutrition and micronutrient deficiencies continue to be a problem worldwide. An estimated 2 billion
people suffer from at least one form of micronutrient deficiency. There is also a growing epidemic of chronic disease, particularly in developing countries, where estimates show 80% of the burden of chronic diseases may be felt. Many developing countries are experiencing a double burden of disease with concurrent childhood  malnutrition and adult obesity, sometimes even within the same household.
