Maryse Umugwaneza obtained her PhD from North-West University, South Africa, in 2017. Her thesis, on the development of food-based dietary guidelines (FBDGs) for Rwandan children aged 6 to 23 months, offers a solution to contribute to addressing stunting, a nutrition-related public health problem in Rwanda. Maryse discusses the potential of nutrient profiling in the context of the country.
