“Ke Nako” – the cry that I will never forget when the 2010 football World Cup came to Afr ica. Literally it means “the time is now” or “we are ready”, so it was appropriate that this was the theme of the fi rst football World Cup to be hosted by Afr ica. For South Afr ica, aft er years of waiting, much planning, moments of tension, and massive construction and infr astructure evelopment, we were fi nally ready to host the world’s greatest and largest single sporting-event competition. “Ke Nako” we cried out with excitement as we overcame the naysayers fr om within South Afr ica and around the world. It makes me think of where Afr ica is now in relation to nutrition.
