ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Africa Director, the position will focus on delivering essential health and nutrition interventions in the Rwanda and rest of Africa. The position requires a strong understanding of business analytics and project management. This is a full time position based in Kigali, Rwanda with potential travel within the country and rest of Africa.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Lead the development of project activities on improving essential health and nutrition services including antenatal care strengthening, including MMS and Calcium supplementation in the country.
  • Roll out the project scope and activities in line with the project plans, timelines, and organizational strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with partners in implementing project activities and providing timely insights through regular monitoring and updates.
  • Identify and coordinate relevant stakeholders for capacity building activities of different actors involved in the MMS project implementation.
  • Working closely with SAL technical teams for the implementation of activities and quality standards in line with the relevant project activities.
  • Maintain a positive and open communication channel with partners, local organizations, government stakeholders, and donors, and join relevant meetings.
  • Prepare presentations and write donor reports in collaboration with the Scientific Program Manager and SAL leadership team.
  • Ensuring narrative reporting and financial accounting meet the requirements of SAL and the donor.
  • Working with the SAL Rwanda finance staff to ensure that accurate budgets and forecasting are drawn up for all activities and that activity costs are kept within budgets.
  • Any other assignment that SAL leadership may assign
ACCOUNTABILITY

Reports to: Africa Director

Works with: Sight and Life Rwanda and global teams

Location: Rwanda. This is an in-country position with potential international travel.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s or equivalent in nutrition, public health, policy studies, business, or development studies. People with Masters in Business management will be preferred with our without previous knowledge of nutrition sector.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • At least 4-6 years of total work experience
  • Prior experience as a product manager is an advantage
  • Experience in conducting analytics
  • Experience in leading or coordinating collaborative projects involving multiple partners
  • Experience in working with government authorities, academia, and local and international organizations
  • Experience in a global, multicultural organization is preferred
  • Proven knowledge and commitment to effective project design and delivery to achieve impact
  • Proven experience in project design and activities implementation to achieve impact
