The SBC Specialist will provide strategic and technical leadership for Social and Behavior Change, supporting country implementation, consortium coordination, and donor reporting.
Reporting to the SAL Rwanda Country Director, the role will work closely with NICE country teams, consortium partners, and SAL technical and communications staff to ensure that SBC strategies are well designed, implemented, tracked, and documented across NICE countries.
Strategic Leadership & Consortium Engagement
– Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership for NICE Outcome 3 (SBC).
– Represent Outcome 3 in consortium meetings and technical forums.
– Support donor reporting and presentations related to SBC activities. – Ensure alignment of SBC approaches across countries.
Country-Level SBC Implementation & Oversight
– Oversee implementation of NICE country SBC strategies.
– Support country teams in operationalizing SBC workplans. – Identify challenges and provide technical guidance.
Monitoring, Reporting & Performance Tracking
– Ensure SBC indicators are tracked and reported.
– Support bi-annual and annual reporting cycles.
– Contribute to learning and adaptive management.
Capacity Building & Technical Support
– Provide coaching and training to project managers and field teams.
– Support stakeholder engagement at community and sub-national levels.
Knowledge Sharing & Communications Support
– Support development of success stories and lessons learned.
– Contribute to presentations for country and global events.
Other responsibilities
– Support the design and implementation of a social marketing strategy for the SUSTAIN project in Tanzania
Reports to: Africa Director of Sight and Life Foundation
– Strong expertise in designing and implementing social and behavioral change programs
– Proven knowledge of applying behavioral science principles and frameworks to the design of food systems, nutrition and agriculture programs
– Proven track record of supporting research, design and implementation of behavioral science driven programs
– Qualitative and quantitative research, monitoring and evaluation experience
– Experience with multi-country, donor-funded programs.
– Master’s degree in behavioral science, psychology, social marketing, or health promotion preferred.
– At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience.
– Strong communication and facilitation skills.
Contract duration: 7 months- full time position (maternity cover), with potential extension.
Location: Rwanda. International travel may be required.
