Most of the urban population by 2050 will be in small or secondary Asian and African cities, where problems like hunger are rising and dependency on processed foods is gaining popularity. We must build stronger food systems by improving urban farming practices and reaching customers more effectively by understanding and analysing their social and behavioral patterns. The Nutrition in City Ecosystems program hopes to improve nutrition in urban areas by influencing policy decisions, coordinating with stakeholders, as well as improve quality and access to food in Kenya, Bangladesh and Rwanda.
